  1. Yeah, my friend said it's because movie companies are running out of good ideas, haha.

Where are you getting all of this information? That's cool. I usually like to watch movies about books I've read.

Are you still updating this list? I hope you are!

  2. Yep, that seems very probable.

I just made a list of the ones I was excited about and then asked other people on a forum about the novel adaptations they were looking forward to and compiled it all into one. And I search for "based on novel" on IMDb.com and then sort them by date and have found some that way.

Yep, still updating whenever I find something new!

  10. lets discuss... what is better..
    adopted screenplays or real books....
    i stand to films....
    they attract more audience
they give people with more employment..
we dont have to rely on our imaginations
the actors can present it for us...
    movie's impact is high....

  11. now against what i have said earlier......
    • Books are evergreen fascinations i.e. they never become old
    • In a book the language comes alive; the action becomes more immediate and important because it was written down for the reader to interpret, not an actor. This is what a book can do , and a movie will never achieve this kind of escapism simply because you enjoy the fruits of someone else’s imagination, not your own.
    • Books are better for unwinding after the day, better for the spirit and better for inspiring the imagination.
    • reading a book gives a sense of completion. Movie adaptations typically have to cut plot sections or minimize a character for time.
    • The book by its nature is in its original entire form. But filmmakers leave out huge plot sections, and its not the same anymore.
    • Movies require observation, books require participation and involvement.
    • Because intelligent people read books so they can be more profound than the film which has to cater for an audience that can only concentrate on a superficial level.
    • Despite different technologies paving our way almost every day, nothing has been able to substitute the pleasure derived reading books. It is a wonderful experience to transform the words written in the book into our imaginations and travel into a world of our own.
    • In a book author guides you but in films directors drive you.

  13. Oh, such great books are being made into movies, many that I didn't expect, too! I'm so glad that a movie is being made out of House of the Scorpion, wonderful, the romance between the two main characters is reminiscent to Airborne. Give it a try!
